What is #MLK50?

Renaissance Foundation and its Young Leaders would like to introduce the #MLK50 project

Dr King RECEIVED his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo Norway in December 1964 50 years to the day Our Young Leaders retraced his journey from London to Oslo, as he had a very special invitation to speak at St Paul's Cathedral ahead of his historic journey to Norway to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

Why him? Why now?

Inspired by what they had seen while visiting the Nobel Peace Prize in 2013, our Young Leaders team were delighted to discover that Dec 2014 - Dec 2015 marked the 50th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King's laureateship.

Upon reading and watching Dr King's Nobel acceptance speech, our Young Leaders found the message therein to be both profound and deeply relevant today. It is with this in mind that the #MLK50 project was born.

I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits.
